Silver plate on the detachable cup remains bright, showing only light surface marks from age and handling and no visible dents or distortion. Bayonet-style cork-lined cap screws on and off smoothly and secures firmly in place. Pigskin leather wrap is tight, clean, and well-fitted with very little wear, and no lifting, cracks, or separation at seams. Glass body is clear and free of visible cracks, chips, or clouding. Detachable silver-plated cup removes easily and fits securely.  Base stamped “J D \u0026amp; S” with the Dixon trumpet mark, “EPBM,” “581A,” “MADE IN ENGLAND,” and “3\/32 PT.” Collar beneath cap stamped “JD\u0026amp;S” on one side and the Dixon trumpet logo on the other.
