Rabone \u0026amp; Sons and Chesterman—merged to create a single powerhouse in measuring and layout tools. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, their levels, rules, and squares were prized for accuracy and durability, long before plastic and die-cast aluminum replaced traditional metals on the workbench. Main horizontal vial is clear, intact, and responsive, while the vertical vial is present but non-functional with no visible bubble. Brass top plate stamped “RABONE CHESTERMAN,” model designation “1626,” and “MADE IN ENGLAND,” all clear and legible. Level has been lightly cleaned and polished.
