In excellent vintage condition, with rich red cloth boards, bright gilt spine lettering, clean pages, and a firm, square binding. The front endpaper bears the elegantly written name of a previous owner from Paisley, adding a quiet note of Scottish provenance. A finely preserved example of one of Scott’s best-loved tales.

Condition Notes: Overall in excellent vintage condition, with clean, bright pages and a firm, square binding showing no looseness or separation. Red cloth boards retain rich color and texture with minimal rubbing; gilt lettering on the spine remains sharp and luminous. Slight wear noted at the head of the spine and small rubbed marks to the top corners of the inside rear cover (see photos), otherwise remarkably well preserved. Endpapers and text block are clean and free from foxing or staining, with only mild age toning at the edges. Front endpaper bears an elegantly written inscription (“Robert Lawrie (?), Paisley”), adding a note of provenance. A crisp, attractive example of this 1930s Collins Clear-Type edition.
