Art Deco English Cocktail Dash Bottle c. 1920–1940 | Silver Plated Vintage Barware

For the cocktail afficionado … a rare English silver-plated cocktail dash bottle, measuring just over 4 inches tall and dating to around 1920–1940. The two-part plated sleeve is fitted with a blank brass cartouche and includes a removable cork-stoppered glass bottle, a narrow opening for dispensing, and a screw-on domed cap.  In spectacular condition for its age, with original cork and glass container, its compact scale and deco design make it a special gift and a striking addition to a gentleman’s bar cart or drinks tray.

Before the adoption of mass-produced glass dashers in the mid-20th century, cocktail service relied on mechanically metered vessels like this to deliver controlled drops of concentrated additives such as bitters, absinthe, and quinine. When inverted, the domed head and narrow opening regulate flow by gravity, allowing small, repeatable dashes while keeping the liquids sealed in the glass container.  The completeness, condition, and shaker-form construction of our bottle makes it a standout example of its type.

Condition notes: Excellent vintage condition overall. Silver-plated sleeve retains bright, even surface finish with minimal wear and responds well to light polishing. Interior of sleeve shows scattered surface staining and wear consistent with age and use. Removable glass bottle is free of cracks, chips, or damage but displays visible interior residue and has not been cleaned. Original cork stopper remains intact and secure. No visible maker’s marks noted. Dispensing function has not been tested with liquid and item is offered as a display and collectible piece. Other items in photos not included.
