For the outdoorsman … a smart and functional antique horn-handled corkscrew from the early 1900s, featuring a classic, hand-finished antler handle (likely red deer) and a sturdy single-spiral steel worm. This piece boasts a wonderful smooth patina and remains perfectly dependable for uncorking your favorite vintage.  (In the spirit of customer service, the corkscrew has been rigorously tested by our loyal staff.)  As a travel companion, it would be an ideal choice for picnics, camping, or a cabin by the lake.

Horn-handled corkscrews were a common household essential in the Victorian era and on into the early 1900s, favored for their robust build and natural appeal. Crafted from genuine deer antler and forged steel, they bring a rustic elegance to the dinner table and the cocktail tray.  Our example is supremely comfortable in the hand, easy to grip, and has a slight bend to the worm—a testament to its years of faithful service—yet works beautifully with no wobble.

Handle: 4” x 5/8”
Worm: 3-1/4”
Weight: 1.2 oz.

Condition notes: Excellent antique condition overall. Antler handle is smooth with a warm patina and minor surface wear consistent with age. The steel worm has a slight bend from years of use, but remains sharp and fully functional. A small piece of string is tied near the top of the worm (likely from a previous owner) —we’ve left it in place to preserve authenticity.
