Crown-Stamped 1/6 Gill Jigger by Bonzer | Vintage English Silver-Plated Spirit Measure with Handle

For the mixologist … a vintage British 1/6 gill silver-plated spirit measure by Bonzer, complete with angular handle and classic Art Deco-influenced profile. Crown-stamped (certifying that it passed government inspection), this is an authentic pub measure once used behind British bars before metrification.  Measuring 1-7/8 inches in height, it has a satisfying weight in the hand and would make a distinctive addition to a gentleman’s home bar or drinks tray.

In Imperial terms, a gill was one-quarter of a pint, with fractions such as 1/6 and 1/3 used for measured service of whisky and spirits throughout Britain for generations. Bonzer began producing barware in the 1930s and quickly became a favorite of bartenders who valued durability over flash. Crown-stamped, silver-plated examples remain sought after by collectors of British barware and cocktail memorabilia.

Condition notes: Excellent vintage condition overall, with only faint surface marks consistent with age, handling, and honest bar use. Silver-plated finish remains bright and even throughout, with no plating losses, cracks, repairs, or structural issues noted. Upper rolled rim and lower base both show slight flattening in places, visible only upon close inspection and not affecting presentation or stability. Interior is clean overall, with a small amount of residual darkening or residue from prior use visible along edge of bottom interior surface. Stamping remains crisp and fully legible throughout, including crown verification mark, “1/6 GILL,” date stamp “72,” “EPNS,” and Bonzer maker’s mark to base. Measure retains its original weight, shape, and handle with no looseness or movement noted. Other items in photos not included.
