Fine English Leather Cigar Case with Match Striker | Vintage Gentleman’s Accessory

For the cigar lover … a fine vintage English leather cigar case with telescoping two-piece design, crafted from rich brown leather and embossed with a lion and unicorn crest. Measuring 5” x 2-3/4” when fully closed, it features a ridged metal plate at the top for striking matches and a warm, well-preserved patina. In excellent condition throughout, the case adjusts to accommodate two cigars of varying lengths—making it as practical as it is elegant. A special gift for the cigar lover or anyone who values old-fashioned craftsmanship from an era when style and function went hand in hand.

Hybrid cigar cases with built-in match strikers were popular in Britain during the interwar and postwar years, particularly among men on the go.  Their streamlined design kept cigars protected and matches at the ready. Though unbranded, the embossed crest and the words “SOLID LEATHER” on our case suggest quality British manufacture, likely between the 1920s and 1940s.

Condition notes: Excellent condition overall, with clean, supple leather and a rich, well-preserved patina. Embossed crest is clearly visible, and interior is clean and appears free from wear. Two-piece telescoping design slides smoothly and holds firmly when closed. Metal match striker is securely attached with two original screws, though has not been tested for function.
