Mid-Century Silver Plate Double Jigger by Roberts & Belk | Vintage British Spirit Measure

For the cocktail connoisseur … an elegant vintage silver plate double jigger by Roberts & Belk of Sheffield, dating to around 1945–1960. Constructed in bright electroplate with a waisted body and side handle, it measures 1-1/2 and 2 ounces, a practical pairing aligned with standard spirit pours. The form is clean and well-proportioned in keeping with mid-century design, and the piece remains in excellent condition, making it a practical and distinctive addition to a gentleman’s home bar or drinks tray.

Roberts & Belk was established in Sheffield in 1809 as Furniss, Pole and Turner, and changed hands a number of times before becoming Roberts & Belk in 1863.  A well-respected manufacturer known for high-quality silver and electroplate, the firm used a Roman lamp trademark and, in addition to their factory in Sheffield, also operated a London showroom as early as 1858.  Roberts & Belk incorporated in 1901 and remained in production until its sale to C.J. Vander in 1961.

Condition notes: Excellent vintage condition overall with very minor surface wear consistent with age and gentle use. Silver plate finish remains bright and even throughout with a few tiny areas of plate loss visible only on close inspection. No dents, distortions, or damage to the rim, handle, or body profile.  Stamping to the cup is crisp and fully legible, including the firm’s lamp symbol, initials R&B, S, EP, and fleur-de-lys. Interior is clean with light signs of prior use. No structural issues or repairs noted. Other items in photos not included.
