For the poet … a clean, attractive mid-century pocket edition of Poems of John Keats, published by Thomas Nelson & Sons in Edinburgh between 1940-1960.  Bound in green leatherette with a gilt-decorated spine, this is a handsome, compact volume, ideal for the bedside table, library shelf, or as a thoughtful gift for the literary gentleman.

John Keats (1795–1821) was one of the central figures of the English Romantic movement, known for the beauty and intensity of his verse. His odes—among them “Ode to a Nightingale” and "Ode on a Grecian Urn” (both included here)—remain among the most celebrated poems in the language, reflecting his short but extraordinarily influential career before his death at the age of 25.

Part of Nelson’s popular pocket classics series, this edition features a foreword by Sir Henry Newbolt (1862-1938), poet and essayist.  A compact format and durable binding made these volumes ideal companions for readers on the move, easily slipped into a jacket pocket or travel bag.

Dimensions: 6-3/16” x 4-3/16” x 3/4"
Weight: 9.2 oz.

Condition notes: Excellent condition overall, with very tight binding and pages clear and clean throughout. Bound in green leatherette with gilt lettering and decoration to spine, showing only minor rubbing at head of spine and otherwise no visible shelf wear.  Endpapers remain crisp, with only faint trace of foxing to front. No inscriptions, markings, or annotations observed. A remarkably well-preserved copy for its age. See photos for more detail and DM shop with questions.  Other items in photos not included.
