Trio of Edwardian Port Glasses c.1900–1915 | Greek Key Etched Design, English Antique Barware

For the man of style … a trio of English port or sherry glasses dating from the Edwardian period, c.1900–1915. Each stands 4-3/8 inches high, holds just over 2 fluid ounces, and is finely etched with a repeating Greek key motif framed by wave borders. In excellent condition, they’d make an inspired gift and an elegant addition to a gentleman’s drinks tray or home bar.  

Glasses like these were brought out after dinner for port, sherry, or other fortified wines, their small capacity reflecting the Edwardian custom for measured servings.  Their Greek key design was a nod to ancient elegance at a time when neo-classical revival was very much in vogue. The motif was used in glassware, silver, and even architecture to evoke a sense of cultured taste and historical continuity.

Condition notes: Excellent antique condition overall, with no chips, cracks, or scratches to any of the three glasses. Bases show small bubbles and minor irregularities typical of Edwardian glass-making (see photos).  Etched decoration remains crisp and well-defined, with clear Greek key and wave borders. Glass surfaces are bright and transparent with no clouding or staining, and all three glasses stand securely without wobble. Other items in photos not included.
