Vintage 50 Star American Flag, 31 x 57 Inches | Embroidered Cotton Flag with Printed Stars c. 1970-1990

For the patriot … a vintage 50-star American flag measuring 31 x 57 inches, dating to around 1970-1990, constructed from lightweight cotton with printed stars and machine-stitched red and white stripes throughout. The hoist edge is finished with a reinforced canvas header and brass grommets, typical of late 20th-century U.S.-made examples. Clean and well-preserved with crisp color and only minor signs of prior handling, the flag is ready for July 4 celebrations or for wall display in a gentleman’s study or den.

By the 1970s, printed-star cotton flags had become widely used for residential display and civic settings, reflecting a shift toward more standardized production methods. Flags of this era retain their traditional canvas headers and brass grommets, with machine stitching throughout. Our example displays strong color on both sides and remains in excellent vintage condition.

Condition notes: Excellent vintage condition overall with strong, even color across the red, white, and blue cotton. Printed stars remain clear and well-defined, and all red and white stripes are firmly joined with consistent machine stitching throughout. Canvas header is intact and securely stitched, with two brass grommets present and firmly in place. Faint manufacturer/brand name visible on header but now illegible.  One small, faint mark is visible on a white stripe near the midpoint, noticeable only on close inspection. Fabric is free of tears, holes, or repairs. Flag shows minimal signs of prior use and remains structurally sound. Other items in photos not included.
