Vintage English Leather Cigar Case by Clifton, 1940s-1950s | Slim Three-Cigar Case with Pull Strap

For the traditionalist … a handsome vintage English leather cigar case by Clifton, dating to the 1940s-1950s. Formed from a warm, dark brown pebbled leather with neatly stitched edges, it features a simple two-piece telescoping construction, and includes an internal leather pull strap to help raise individual cigars from the case.  In excellent vintage condition, it would make a memorable gift for the cigar smoker or anyone who appreciates heritage leather goods.

Clifton was a well-known English maker of fine leather accessories in the first half of the 20th century, producing cigar cases, travel wallets, and other small personal goods.  At 3-5/8 inches across and 6 inches in length, our case was designed to hold three of the slimmer cigars popular in the 1940s and 1950s, particularly panetela-type cigars of around 34-35 ring gauge.  The proportions are a useful reminder that cigars of the period were substantially narrower than the larger sizes now common.

Condition notes: Excellent vintage condition overall with only very light wear consistent with age and careful use. Leather remains supple and evenly toned, with a deep brown patina throughout and no discernible cracks or tears. All stitching intact with no fraying, looseness, or repairs noted. Case slides open and closed smoothly and aligns properly when closed.  Stamped “Clifton” and “ENGLISH MADE” in gold on interior case.  Pull tab attached securely with no visible cracks or damage. Interior sleeve measures approximately 1/2” wide at the opening and is sized for slim-format cigars such as panatelas or cigarillos. Case has been gently cleaned and polished.  Other items in photos not included.
