Vintage English Silver Plate Wine Coaster c. 1960-1975 | 4-Inch Coaster with Beaded Rim and Hardwood Base

For the entertainer …  an attractive vintage English silver-plated wine coaster, dating to around 1960-1975, featuring pierced gallery sides, a beaded rim, and a turned hardwood base with concentric rings.  Measuring 4" in diameter and in excellent condition, it’s scaled to fit standard wine bottles and would make a smart and practical gift for the gentleman host.

Wine coasters are the perfect blend of style and practicality—adding a touch of elegance to the table while protecting surfaces from drips and rings. Our example’s pierced Georgian-style gallery gives the piece a lighter, more decorative profile, while the rich wood accent adds warmth and makes it a versatile choice for a drinks tray, bar cabinet, or sideboard.

Condition Notes: Excellent vintage condition overall, with only light signs of age and gentle use. Silver-plated gallery retains a bright finish with minor surface wear and small areas of tarnish visible only under close inspection. Turned hardwood base remains smooth and evenly toned, with well-defined concentric rings and no cracks, lifting, or structural damage observed. Green felt backing is intact and securely affixed, with a few small marks and areas of discoloration from age and handling. At 4" in diameter, coaster is sized for standard wine bottles, but will not accommodate larger bottle formats such as typical Chardonnay, Champagne, Syrah, or magnum.  Coaster has been lightly polished and waxed.  Other items in photos not included.
